Well friends, it happened…our entire living and dining space has been completely transformed thanks to Bassett Furniture and I couldn’t be happier.
Have you ever dreamed up a room in your head? I swear I’ve been dreaming of making this space look exactly like this for years and it finally happened. Grateful doesn’t even begin to describe it.
You guys have been with me throughout this entire process, from picking out and customizing every single piece at the new Bassett store in Frisco, TX (if you missed that post find it here) to now, finally being able to make these incredible pieces at home in our house. Throughout our experience with Bassett three words have been bouncing around in my head over and over:
Quality
Statement
Custom
I tried for a long time create this space in a hurry because I just wanted it done. To everyone else it seemed finished, but the vision I had in my head (which incredibly, looks just like it does now) wasn’t happening. I would cut corners and buy the quick and cheap option…hoping it would be good enough, but I always felt something was lacking – it never came together. I say all this to encourage you guys to take your time with the design of your home. When searching for the main pieces that will serve as the building blocks in your spaces (like furniture, rugs and lighting) focus on quality pieces that make a statement.
This doesn’t mean you have to get the most expensive couch or only get a table if it’s a certain material, I’m only saying that you should take your time and spend your hard-earned money on pieces that will actually last and stand the test of time…that includes durability and style. I always suggest choosing traditional furniture and making fun, trendy choices with smaller decor pieces that you can afford to switch out more often.
Let’s take a closer look at the Bassett pieces I chose (all are linked at the bottom of this post)…
For our sofa, I choose the Beckham with a matching storage ottoman that serves a switchable chaise. I loved this sofa in the store, but when the Bassett team delivered it this week I was absolutely blown away. As soon as they placed it in our living room (most professional, competent delivery team ever by the way), it elevated this space.
The classic Bone upholstery is stunning in person and is plush and crisp at the same time. Not to mention the quality is outstanding – I’m not looking forward to a stain, but after being coached by the Bassett team on the cleaning process I know it will be easy to handle. I adore the clean, modern lines of the couch, but it still has that traditional look that I know I’ll love for years to come.
Can we talk about this rug? Actually, y’all can’t stop talking about this rug on my Instagram page and I can’t blame you. It’s a showstopper. The textured, diamond pattern catches your eye immediately and it’s beyond soft. Just the other night I came home from a girl’s night and my husband told me because of this rug he finally understands why people have them for more than just aesthetic reasons. It’s so plush and just a pleasure to walk on.
I rounded this room out with these gorgeous tables from Bassett’s new Bluffton collection and the Devereux Table Lamp which is a work of art in itself. All three of these pieces have that collected, handmade look which I love. The tables are sturdy, but beautiful and I don’t even have to add any decor to them. They are decoration enough. The Devereux Lamp makes an immediate statement and the stone detail is amazing. I’ve wanted a lamp like this forever and I stop and stare at it every time I walk in the room. Not to mention, it’s super functional and gives off great light.
Let’s move onto the dining room, shall we? You won’t recognize it…
Isn’t that table the perfect modern, traditional combination? I love it so much I could sleep on it.
This table is the Artisan from Bassett’s Benchmade collection. It’s made in the USA and is solid wood – Appalachian Oak. You don’t even have to touch it to know it will last decades, but you should because it’s easy on the hands🙌🏻 I love the fact that I was able to choose the exact finish duo (Nubuck Oak top and Alpine Oak base). I also added a Benchmade bench in Nubuck Oak and I’m so glad that we did. Our daughter loves sitting there for meals and I know it will be so functional when we host our friends and family.
To compliment the traditional, farmhouse feel of the table I chose a modern pendant, the Wesley. It makes the exact statement that I wanted it to – it catches your eye from across the room and makes the room feel elegant, but its soft, focused light makes our time around the table feel cozy and intimate. The gold accents and rich, linen shade make this a perfect light fixture in my eyes.
The last piece in this room is our Soho Odyssey Cabinet. Hello, beautiful!
Obviously we’re using this piece as a home for our beloved record player (all of our records fit perfectly inside along with room for table settings), but it would be a great piece to use as a buffet, entry cabinet or even in a living space. It’s little more fun and modern with that gorgeous, bronze detail and I love the rich gray tones in the wood exterior.
Are you still there or have you left me to run to Bassett? I wouldn’t blame if you had, but let me share this last beauty with you.
That is the Abbegail Wall Mirror and we’re getting married. Okay, I’m already married but oh my goodness, I knew I had to have her when browsing Bassett’s website. Statement mirrors are one of the first things I suggest when designing a space because they do so much – add light, dimension, ‘extra space’, beauty…but in order to do all of that it has to be a good mirror. This mirror pure quality. I love its seamless, elegant profile and as an added bonus, you can hang it vertically or horizontally.
So what do you think?? I hope y’all love it as much as I do. I said it in my stories when everything arrived last week, but these rooms finally feel like grown up spaces. I’m more than impressed with Bassett Furniture. It’s a very rewarding process to be able to customize the furniture that your family will live and love on and then see it all come together, while knowing that they will be with you for years to come. I’ve never experienced anything like it.
So many thanks to Bassett Furniture for this wonderful opportunity and thank you to you guys, my lovelies, for going on this journey with me. You helped me make my choices and I loved experiencing all of this with you. If you have any questions at all about my Bassett experience don’t hesitate to email or send me a message!

Hayley
