This post is sponsored by Bassett Furniture, but all opinions and reviews are my own. I only promote brands I stand behind 100%. Please see below for my full disclosure.
Have you ever been furniture shopping and thought, “That piece would be perfect if…the color of the upholstery was just a little lighter, I could change the finish on that coffee table, if that loveseat came in leather or if I could change the pedestal of that dining table?”. I know I have…about 7,000 times.
Bassett Furniture in Frisco, TX
No more my friends, no more. I was recently invited to visit the brand new Bassett Furniture store in Frisco, TX and I was genuinely blown away. The customization options they have are endless and there aren’t just one or two good choices in the bunch – the upholstery, the finishes, the furniture: it’s all beautiful, on-trend and the quality is second to none.
If you haven’t visited a Basset Furniture in a while (or any furniture store for that matter because we’ve all been doing that online, right?) you won’t know what hit you…especially in this Frisco store. The entire store is designed perfectly with styled living room, bedroom and dining spaces so you can see first-hand what your rooms will look like with Bassett’s pieces and all of their customizable options are on display too.
You’ll get to see and touch the hundreds of upholstery options, walk on the rug samples and sit on the dozens of chair and sofa varieties they offer just to name a few. During my visit to the Frisco store I realized somewhere along the way we as shoppers put the convenience of online shopping too high on our priority list and forgot the value of actually putting our hands on the furniture that we’re buying. From what I’ve seen and experienced that has resulted in a lot of expensive and complicated returns or worse, living with furniture that you don’t like. I love that Bassett offers a solution to this problem.
Also, each Bassett store offers top-notch advice to the consumer from their Design Consultants. These magical people are interior designers that will assist you from the minute you walk in the door and help you make the right furniture choices for you and your family. In most furniture stores, the services of an interior designer will cost you, but with Bassett this huge benefit is free. I couldn’t have made the right decisions that I did without Aleena, my DC at the Frisco store, and I truly felt that she was there to help me – not sell me.
The exciting aspect of the Frisco location specifically is that this store is one of a kind. All of the Bassett locations offer the same, incredible customization options, but if you live in the DFW area I highly recommend you make a trip to the Frisco store to see these impressive new features in person.
My Visit
One of the first things I noticed when I walked in were the huge touch screens, ready and waiting for you to build your dream piece of furniture. Even more impressive is the huge design studio in the heart of the store…for a gal like me, that dreams about pretty furniture and rooms, it was mesmerizing.
Hundreds of upholstery options line the walls, all of the wood finishes and colors are displayed for you to touch and choose from and they even have a beautiful reveal space where you can watch your designs come to life on a television screen (while sitting on one of their dreamy couches, of course😉). It’s seriously like being a part of an HGTV show…so, I guess it’s not a shock that Bassett & HGTV are partners!
My Choices
The day I visited Bassett I was on the hunt for pieces for my living room and dining room. Like any good millennial, I had done my research on the website before my visit and thought I knew exactly what I was going to choose, but thanks to Bassett’s Design Studio and all of the choices at my fingertips I ended up tweaking a few of my original choices.
Being able to see things like the wood finishes for the dining room tables in person helped me make the decision to switch from the Bench Made line’s Alpine Oak to Nubuck Oak. Both were so beautiful I had a hard time choosing and thankfully Aleena helped me with that! We decided to keep the base of the table Alpine Oak and make the top Nubuck. I couldn’t believe that I was able to customize the table that specifically, but apparently at Bassett all design dreams are possible!
I also made a huge change in our choice of sofa from an Envelop to a Beckham. For our sofa, I was looking for comfort, a chaise option (hopefully switchable) and clean, modern lines. I got all of that and more in the Beckham.
There are dozens of different configurations you can picking from and I ended up choosing the storage ottoman instead of an actual chaise because it will function like a chaise, but we can switch it around and it will help store all of the toys. Huge win. Another kid perk? For the upholstery I chose Performance Basket Weave Bone. It’s a lighter color so I made sure to ask about cleaning and Aleena talked me through the simple, but effective cleaning process and now I feel totally comfortable bringing it home to our two babes. Talk about full service!
One of the things that most impressed me during my visit were the throw pillow options. I know what you’re thinking, huh?? Throw pillows instead of all of that amazing furniture? What I was impressed with though was process of choosing them. I’ve ordered sofas before that arrived on delivery day with a few hideous throw pillows that I didn’t know were coming and were not anything close to what I would have chosen. Not the case here. You know what I’m talking about, right? You don’t have to use them of course, but it’s a little disappointing for a sofa to not include pillows that you like, especially when you’ve just made such a big investment.
Bassett kicked that old practice to the curb by letting me choose a certain number of pillows for each piece of my sofa. It was so fun to go through all of the fabric options (remember the Design Studio??🙌🏻) and mix and match until we got the perfect combo. I even saw a chair later in my visit that was covered in the fabric of one of my choices! I’m telling you the options are endless.
I also loved going through all of the rug choices in person and being able to lay those right alongside my sofa and pillow choices to make sure they would all flow. Priceless!
All in all, I hope y’all can tell I as genuinely impressed. Impressed with the service at Bassett, the pieces themselves and just the entire process. Thanks for stopping by the blog today and I can’t wait to update you guys once our pieces start arriving. Christmas is coming early for momma this year!
xoxo,
Hayley
