Kids and a TV will give you you a heart attack, am I right? One of the things that always makes me run across the living room is the sight of one of my babes reaching for the television. Even though our TV has always been secured to the dresser it rests on (and the wall) and that dresser is secured to the wall – it still makes me panic. Did you know that over 11K ER visits occur every year due to a tip-over related injury? And when they fall, they fall hard y’all.
This year, I attended a conference where I sat in on a presentation by SANUS and immediately reached out to them because I knew we had to mount our television. I wanted a wall mount mainly for safety reasons, I was so excited at the prospect of eliminating that tip-over risk, but also for aesthetic reasons. Eventually I would love to get rid of our TV dresser to save space, but for right now it’s necessary toy storage😉
On SANUS‘ website you answer a few simple questions to determine which mount is right for you and it’s super easy to install. We chose the Full Motion TV Wall Mount. My husband was able to mount our television in less than an hour – it’s similar to hanging a heavy mirror. Incredibly, it’s only a three step process:
- Attach the brackets to the back of your TV
- Install the wall plate
- Hang the TV on the wall plate
That’s it! I’m in love with the fact that I don’t have to worry about the kids pulling the TV down on top of themselves and I love how we can rotate, swivel and adjust the television however we like. Because of the mount we chose can move it to face just the couch after the kids go to bed and we’re settling down for the night or tilt it to avoid glare – so convenient.
So, what do y’all think? Have you ever considered mounting your television? I’m so glad we did and I even happier that we went with SANUS. Comment below with any questions you have about our experience and have a great weekend, lovelies!
