Happy Thursday, my dears! Everyone has a space in their home that leaves their head scratching, right? I’ve had a couple, but my biggest challenge in our home has definitely been this L-wall between our kitchen and living room.
The previous owners had very tall barstools here, but that just felt odd to me…barstools in the living room? I brainstormed for a couple years…large built in? Wallpaper? Open shelves? Huge, eclectic gallery wall? Some ideas were too much, some too little and most wouldn’t work with two small children.
Enter Stikwood.
I knew the wall needed dimension and interest, but since it’s right in our living room I ultimately didn’t want to make the room any smaller by added a large piece of furniture or built-ins. Stikwood adds just the right amount of texture and makes such a statement. What do you think??
Stikwood is peel and stick reclaimed and sustainable wood planking. It’s super easy to put up and my husband and I were able to do this large wall in less than one day (in between a toddler assistant ‘helping’ us and a baby that didn’t want to nap, no less!).
This is where we started…
Stikwood has some great educational videos on their website, but basically all you have to do is make sure your wall is level (if it’s not they have tips on how to handle that), remove the adhesive on the back of the panels (they send you all sorts of sizes) and apply in the pattern that you wish.
If you need to cut the boards to work around outlets or uneven edges you can do so with a hand saw or mitre saw.
The last step is using the roller they provide and make sure you’ve pressed down all the adhesive.
And that’s it! Super easy, right? We love it. It’s made such an impact in this space and was just the right touch I was looking for.
So tell me lovelies, what space do you struggle with in your home? We all have them and I’m curious about yours so tell me!
Thank you so much for stopping by and checking mine out, have a great week!
xoxo,
Hayley
