Hello, lovelies! It’s been a while since my last post because we’re currently living in newborn world. It’s been such a sweet month, but I couldn’t let fall pass by without giving y’all a peek into our home.
The best part is I’m joining a few of my friends who are also sharing their fall homes. Don’t forget to follow the links at the end of this post to see their beautiful, autumn spaces.
And without further ado, fall has arrived in the dining room…
Today, I want share our dining room because it does a great job of encompassing my fall style this year: simple, eclectic and neutral.
Other than some fun, dollar spot pumpkins from Target the only new piece I added was this gorgeous, wood bowl from Hayneedle.
I love the chiseled detail and you guys, this baby is heavy…it’s definitely a quality piece. My daughter likes to call it the boat and I’ll be honest, that’s what I call it now too…
To top things off I added my favorite wooden beads and some fresh eucalyptus.
And there you have it! I wanted to keep things simple this year because I have a new baby, but also because I’m tired of sacrificing my personal style for holiday/seasonal changes. In years past I’ve decorated too much for the changing seasons. It’s completely my fault and I’m so glad I found the perfect balance this year.
It definitely feels like fall in our home, but still feels like our house…and not the latest autumn display at Hobby Lobby or Target.
The perfect example is my girl, Philo, our Split Leaf Philodendron. She’s not exactly fall-ish, but our home is a house of plants (mostly tropical) and she’s not going anywhere. My best piece of advice for seasonal decorating is make sure you don’t sacrifice your home’s identity for the sake of the season. People should still be able to walk in your house and recognize the space you’ve created for your family.
Well, what do you guys think? Do you like to keep things simple for the holidays or are you going big this year? To be honest, I think both ways are beautiful…as long as you hold onto your personal style. Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope y’all are having a cozy fall so far!
xoxo,
Hayley
