Happy October, everyone! I’m sharing the rest of my autumn home tour today and joining some incredible bloggers who are also sharing their spaces. Everyone on this tour has their own unique style so make sure to follow the links at the end of this post to see all the cozy goodness.
As for me, our fall in Fort Worth is really hit or miss. This weekend it was cool and rainy, but today it’s sunny and warm. I can’t rely on the weather outside to be cozy for fall so I like to make things cozy inside.
If you read the post about my fall dining room you know that I really made an effort this year to keep things simple. In years past, I’ve overdone it with my fall and Christmas decor and as a result the identity of our home and my design style was lost in all the pumpkins and frosted Christmas trees.
This year I was intentional about every piece of ‘fall’ decor I put out and I’m so happy with the finished product. Our home still has the same vibe it always does (the tropical plants and cool neutral colors are here to stay), but fall has definitely arrived.
So, pour yourself a cup of pumpkin spice coffee (this is my current favorite) and settle in for an autumn tour, A House With Books style…
Our living room is my favorite space in the house and all I love the natural, neutral feel of it this season. I added some cozy throws (but not too heavy, because…Texas), just a few Cinderella pumpkins and fresh eucalyptus and magnolia stems.
Isn’t that gold vase a stunner? It’s from Target and I do gold all year long so I’ll use it every season, but I think it’s just perfect for fall coupled with the magnolia.
Our end tables are also new and maybe my favorite. pieces. ever. The entire thing is storage and I think they’re the perfect combination of style and functionality.
I’m also in love with this modern, white vase from hayneedle.com. It’s so unique and I adore the fact that it’s a functional vase. Yes, there is actual water in there…;)
Now, lets move on to the entryway…yeah, I know that’s a little backward, but I thought I would mix it up this year, lol.
This gold sculpture gives me life…and when I brought it home my husband asked me, “When did we start playing quidditch?” 😉
Our favorite cart and the kitchen also got a few touches of fall. Who says fall can’t include palm leaves?
I found these barstools at Marshall’s and I love the contrast they add to our kitchen.
And that’s our home, all spruced up for my favorite season! What do you think? How did you decorate your home for fall this year?
Don’t forget to follow the links below to see the other incredible spaces shared by home bloggers from all over the country. You’ll also find direct, affiliate links in the Shop My Post section for a lot of the pieces you’ve seen in my home today.
